चक्षुरुन्मीलितं येन, तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः ||
Well, I am not talking about the junk Hollywood flick, because the above lines,.they do matter in my life. You believe it or not, every one's life.
I learned there are 3 classes of Guru.
1. Purohit Guru - The one who does some worship at your home for you.
2. Shiksha Guru - They are many in general. You might have learned anything from any individual. He/She is your Shiksha Guru. Nowdays there are many government certified Shiksha Gurus , who do everything except teaching. That's why Rajasthan (at-least as per latest survey) is dipping down in teaching.Okay, let's not go for subjective remarks :)
3. Deeksha Guru - He is generally one/unique in your life time. Provided you are aware of your Guru. You can get any kind of consultation from Him without even asking Him !!
You might have observed I am using "junk" word frequently. This is because I got inspired by a colleague :)
This Guru Poornima (24th of July) I met my Deeksha Guru, He instructed that we should not forget our Shiksha Gurus, and in fact I have already been in touch with them. So I thought lets write this blog on the auspicious Teachers Day. Whatever I am, its because of them. Say my teacher in primary school or the Profs at IIT. I blamed them for it by email this day :) Such teachers are the candles who brighten up their students.
Now let me tell you something interesting I found on the Internet.
If you have ever read Sundar Kand (सुन्दर कांड ) you will come across following lines,
ढोल गवार शूद्र पशु नारी सकल ताड़ना के अधिकारी !!
I was quite curious to know why author Tulsi Das would have written that, because it's controversial in today's world. I came across a blogger who believes that Tulsi meant it literally and thus the blogger was trying to say that Tulasi was a thoughtless guy. The blogger was making fun of this great Epic Ramcharitmanas (राम चरित मानस ).At the same post a person wrote reply which can only be written if you are a great thinker or you are in touch with such great thinker who is ultimately your Guru.
First let me tell if a scholar tries to find out the good meaning he/she will say all these five things relate to the 5 different artifacts ( काम क्रोध मद लोभ मोह ) of human life and thus you feel satisfied with what Tulsi was trying to say, but, only a Guru ( Morari Bapu in this case) will tell you that here the word .ताड़ना does not refer to beating rather it is derived from ताड़न , which means understanding and the meaning will completely change !!
Now let me talk about today's scenario of education.
At school level at least, there is a big gap between government institutions and private institutions. One place government employees are doing their job ( 7 to 12 , generally), another place we have money oriented show case of buildings and facilities for the "middle/upper middle class and govt officer's class". Mind you, there is another set of international schools which aim for the "upper class". And yes, they do deliver what they claim for. So I am not commenting on them. But what about the gap between others?
I came to know about an initiative by Shezad Roy for clearing this gap in Pakistan.
Check out this video,
May be some day I will try that ? or may be my readers ?
For now I leave you with 2 of my favorite songs from Shezad,
1. This one is reworked in Khatta Meetha by Shezad but soul is lost there.
.
2. This one is a beautiful piece of cinematography, music and of course lyrics !!
Njoy life, Take good care of yourself :)

Another great entry in such an amazing blog... impressive information on Gurus... also liked the initiative, nice funda of "adoption of school" by NGOs hopefully will be done in India soon... I did checked out the second song of the two but couldn't find and choero in there, music and lyrics were good...
Overall nicely written and informative as usual :P will be waiting for then next one :)
as usual interesting & informative blog... I would like to have few more lines on 'Ramcharitmanas' example at least for me who do not know much about it ...
last thing probably you want to use 'They' instead of 'he' while mentioning 'Deeksha Guru' ;-)
Good to hear the 2 new songs....
Looking forward for your next blogs... keep writing!
TC man!!
Thanks guys for following my posts so closely :)
Ravi,
I know you are a great choreographer :) , by using word choreography I meant the sync of acting and the lyrics with some beautiful shades. May be I should have used cinematography which will be more close to meaning:)
Corrected it.
Rahul,
Glad to get your comment :) , I was referring to an individual and as I mentioned Deeksha Guru is unique, so I used "he", anyways that nevertheless makes it any big issue :) And for Ramcharitmanas stuff, I will try to add few more things some time. Hopefully we will talk about this when we meet...probably this November :)
Best,
Ravi S
